2008 Cabernet Sauvignon contributes to The Scripps Research InstituteMolly Baber FundMolly Baber was a dear friend and one of the most dynamic and generous people we have ever known. She never missed an opportunity to give back to others. Molly passed away unexpectedly in May of 2004 while working to establish a research center at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego. We are pleased to be able to support her efforts by contributing a dollar from each bottle sold of our Cabernet Sauvignon to the research fund established in her name.Leslie & Molly traveled all over the world together sharing many adventures as co-workers at GTE. She had a unique gift to motivate people to achieve their very best and she was a tireless mentor to many as they built their careers. The funds will directly contribute to research to help families deal with the chronic disease of diabetes and the life-long commitment represented by organ transplantation.WINNER of 2013 Chili Cook-Off! Mix the spices in a small bowl and set aside. Turn on your slow cooker to high heat. Heat chicken stock in the microwave for 1 minute. Put hot stock in slow cooker. In a large sauté pan on medium high heat, cook the onion in the oil/butter until just turning brown (about 10 min). Add garlic and sauté for about 3-5 minutes longer. To the pan, add the shredded chicken and seasoning mix. Mix well and deglaze with additional chicken stock*…just enough to incorporate and thicken. Add the chicken mixture to the slow cooker, followed by the beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, green chilies, cinnamon, agave and hot sauce. Cook on high for 1 hour, then reduce to low for an additional 3-4 hours. Shortly before serving, add the cream cheese and mix well. Serve – top each bowl with cheese, then sour cream and avocado. Serves 6 or more. Pairs well with William Church Viognier |
